gina foringer

With more than 25 years in the environmental professional services industry, Gina Foringer has built her career around her dedication to the military and government communities and environmental sustainability. In 2012, she purchased ERG, forwarding her vision to provide unparalleled service to her customers and the environment.

A graduate of James Madison University and Old Dominion University, Gina holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in mathematics and a Masters in Business Administration. She served as an Army transportation officer from 1990 to 1994, earning a Purple Heart and a Meritorious Service Medal during her service in Somalia and Operation Restore Hope. She left the Army to pursue a career in environmental services.

In 1994, she was introduced to on-site contracting, as a contractor herself, serving at the Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Managing the Military Support Program, which provided environmental planning support to military agencies worldwide, Gina facilitated contract actions and program performance for approximately 300 full-time professional, on-site positions. In addition, she managed hundreds of projects conducted off-site by a variety of qualified environmental firms.

Gina joined Versar, Inc. in 1999, launching the then-small business’s professional services group, which provided on-site environmental support to military installations. Under her leadership, the business grew to approximately $15 million with 125 positions for approximately 25 military locations.

In 2012, Gina left Versar to run her own company, purchasing ERG from its original owner, Linda Ashe. Under Gina’s careful management, the employee roster tripled within one year and the company remained solvent. At the end of 2013, ERG was enrolled in the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 8(a) Business Development Program. The company was also verified as a service-disabled veteran-owned small business, as well as third-party certified as an economically-disadvantaged woman-owned small business. ERG is a registered disadvantaged business enterprise/minority business enterprise in Maryland and Virginia.

Focused on mission success, organizational structures and employee care, Gina has cultivated an extensive network of government and contractor personnel, a thorough knowledge of military infrastructure and a comprehensive understanding of contract operations.
